  • Fantastic restaurant! Just wow! I'll preface by saying that the prices are expensive for very small portions that left me hungry. But the quality? Just wow... The oysters were fresh and the marinade was fantastic. The beef tartare - small, but fresh meat and really well balanced flavours. Even the bread and the butter was delicious! Great quality wines too. Interior is charming. Service: 100%! Only thing to make the place is better is to increase portions, because I was still hungry. But the flavour profile was fantastic!

  • Freya - Chef’s Selection Menu $99pp - Casual Wine Pairing $79pp - Freyja Signature Waffle served with Yarra Valley trout roe $44 (Add on) Feeling truly blessed to celebrate my birthday at Freyja. It was a 10/10 experience from start to finish. Beautiful interior with moody vibes and excellent service throughout the night. I loved that the menu was tailored to our preferences. We went half seafood and half meat. We started with the beef heart skewers and liver parfait. Both were well balanced and not gamy at all. Next came the fish scotch eggs and salad. Personally, I preferred the fish version over the classic. It was lighter but still had all the elements of a great scotch egg. We added the signature waffle with trout roe, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Creamy, crispy, and packed with umami, such a satisfying bite. Then came the fish and venison sausages. Both were executed beautifully with great flavour and texture. Dessert was light and refreshing, the perfect ending to the meal. The wine pairing was solid with thoughtful selections and lovely explanations from the sommelier. Highly recommend Freyja for special occasions, date nights, or when you’re simply in the mood for something memorable.

  • Make sure you order the Tasmanian oysters with some sort of blood orange sauce or something, unbelievable! Also on my recommendation, have the fish, SO FRESH! And for desert have the rhubarb. I also have dietary restrictions and they were so obliging and helpful and still wanted to be creative. Next level creative chefs! Highly recommend this place

  • Freyja has to be the most amazing food place we have attended in Melbourne. The food was handcrafted to perfection and the service and atmosphere was at such a high. What a night out and will be a night we won’t forget for a long time. Thanks so much for having us!

  • We dined here last October. The food was superb, cooked really well, and the waitstaff were very knowledgeable and helpful in advising us on what to order and good food pairings. We had oysters with vinaigrette, both natural and as a starter. We also had the chicken liver, which was a delicious pâté, followed by the goat's cheese, which was well and beautifully presented with fruits. We also tried the caviar bump before our main course arrived. The cocktails here are super delicious and look beautiful. We sat near the window, but inside, you can sit in front of the cooks and watch your food being prepared. The area has two sections. For our main course, we ordered Scotch fillet, roast potatoes (super crispy!), and grilled vegetables. Our steak was cooked to perfection, medium rare , and of course, it's not a lovely dinner without their beautiful dessert. The one recommended for me had pumpkin in it, and it literally melted in my mouth. Not too sweet, but the delightful taste of it just lingered on my taste buds. It's one of the best desserts I've ever had. Some may say the servings here can be quite small; however, there were three of us, and we ordered everything to try. It was all worth it, and I would definitively come back. I highly recommend this restaurant if you visit Melbourne! 10 stars

  • A perfect place for dinner. The food was delicious and the service was good. We enjoyed the bar, which offered a wide selection of cocktails, thanks to Paola the bartender, for kindly explained the cocktail menu and helping us make our selection.

  • Freyja's Chef Selection Menu is seriously impressive. Every plate looks amazing, the lamb was perfectly cooked and the dessert were a fun mix of textures and sweetness. The vibe is stylish but not stuffy, and the staff are friendly and really know their stuff.

  • Dinner at Freyja and seated in the window looking out onto Collins Street was a particularly nice environment on a cold and blustery Saturday Melbourne evening. We shared everything and started with the warm sourdough and cultured butter, the latter being very moreish and very delicious. Next was the tuna which was okay. The Freyja Signature waffle is something different with smoked sour cream and trout roe is recommended although exxy at $46. The duck was two pieces of breast. The scotch fillet was probably the highlight of the night, cooked beautifully with redcurrants and a seafood mustard that altogether made this our pick of the night. Dessert was titled rhubarb - with other stuff that included Geraldton Wax. My wife really enjoyed this one. Our total bill for two pointed towards $380 but that included a cocktail and three glasses of wine. This is a very nice restaurant that has really good reviews; and, is offering a point of difference which is great but not everything clicked for me last night…often it could come down to my menu choices. Staff are friendly and helpful to ensure diners enjoy their dining experience. Many thanks.
